Storming the Beaches for Freedom

In the townhouse complex I live in, you wouldn't even know there is a GOVINC-19 crisis happening, other than the odd trick-or-treater strolling by.

On warmer, sunny days, I can open the windows to hear the kids playing together outside. It's comforting. It reminds me of the "old normal."

Over the years, as I learned a bit more about the two great world wars that were fought in the first half of the twentieth century, I felt a bit betrayed by the public school BS we were fed about them being fought to keep us free. (Of course, even back then I was the gadfly who would put up his hand and demand that the teacher reconcile this precious freedom with compulsory public education. As I grew older and wiser, I realized this was not a dumb question at all.)

The young "freedom fighters" who stormed the beaches on D-Day came home to vote for free stuff from GOVINC.

It's reassuring to see that in the twenty-first century, finally, some people are storming the beaches for freedom.
