COVID-19: Global Quarantine Report

Facts, not Theory

As Karl Denninger said on March 25, 2020, "the data doesn't fit the model."

Dr. Erickson COVID-19 Briefing

Part 2

Global Quarantine Report

Sweden - not crazy.

Russia - a model for Trudeau.

Germany - good old-fashioned German common sense.

Spain - communism. What would you expect?

Miami and Denmark - socialism is wonderful, at least until you run out of other people' money, or it becomes worth less than toilet paper.

Thailand - make sure you have some savings.

Slovenia - just like Canada.

Australia - "COVID-19 FLU ASSESSMENT CLINIC." Flu??? - so far, very quiet.

The lines are at the grocery stores, not the clinics.

Scotland - If you've ever watched the television series, "Foyle's War," you might have found yourself wondering why the people were so afraid of the Nazis, considering the degree of social control that was ubiquitous in Britain at the time. Snitch lines. A population of barely sentient automatons. A lot like Canada. in 2020.

Japan - population 127 million (2018)
- confirmed cases of COVID-19 - 12,368
- deaths - 328 (!)

"Japan is currently the world's oldest country.
The number of elderly people aged 65 or older accounts for 26.7 percent of the 127.11 million total population." -- source

Japan looks like a country where the people are free and the government is restricted. Government of the people, by the people, and all that old-fashioned, outdated Americana, seems to prevail.

Panama - possibly worse than Canada. The kind of country Justin would admire.

Romania - very low carbon footprint. How dare they not?

Netherlands - great environment.

LA - people are waking up.

Confirmed cases: 2,662,118

Deceased: 183,770

Mortality rate: 7%

Actual cases: unknown

Deceased: 183,770

Actual mortality rate: unknown

From April 21, 2020.

We'll see.

I honestly don't recall ever having had a flu vaccine. I can't remember the last time I even had the flu.

I think I have had the flu, but don't know because I've never actually been diagnosed as having the flu, unless it was back when I was a kid and just can't remember. Something back in 1979 really threw me for a loop and was, perhaps, the first time, out of two that I ever took time off work for non-alcohol induced flu symptoms or any other condition. The other time was about ten years ago I had something and stayed home.

My doctor once asked me if I was interested in getting a flu shot. When I told her I was not, she didn't give me any pressure. I think she even commented on me having "amazing immunities."

I think the daily gram of vitamin C and, when I get a scratchy throat, echinacea, that I have been taking since the mid 1980s also helps. A lot.

The other day while having a conversation with a friend, after I sanitized my phone, my friend asked me if I wasn't just a little afraid of this boogey man. I told them, point-blank, "no more afraid than I have been during any other flu season."

And I'll be damned if I will put on a schmoo costume with gloves, mask, garlic necklace, and a propeller beanie unless it is mandated with an $880 fine for non-compliance.

---
My Definition: Schmoo - a deferential thinker, eager to bend over and spread one's cheeks in response to pontifications from the chronically dishonest and stupid political/media elites.
---

Anyway,

I've been wondering how long it would take for Rebel News to wake up to this destructive, media-driven, politically mishandled panic.

Karl Denninger has been making some very good calls about this panic since the beginning.

Are ventilators doing more harm than good?

What I would like to know is what percentage of COVID-19 fatalities died while on ventilators?

So far, I have only be able to find estimates of the percentage of COVID-19 patients on ventilators who died.

These estimates go as high as 80, or even 90%. According to Denninger, 95% of the Wuhan patients on ventilators died.

The Bloomberg article says, “There had been a tendency earlier on in the crisis for people to put patients on ventilators early, because patients were deteriorating very quickly,” but it doesn't say, for example, "of all the deaths attributed to COVID-19, X% were on ventilators when they died.

In other words, it doesn't provide any indication of how many people NOT put on ventilators also died. Considering that only the quickly deteriorating patients were put on ventilators, I suspect the proportion of deaths while on ventilators would be very high.

So far I haven't been able to find anything that answers this question. An answer might be helpful as it might provide some indication as to whether the mortality rates are being elevated by the ventilators rather than the disease. The ventilators might be killing the patients just like the politicians are killing the economy. And there is NO QUESTION about that.

That also reminds me of something I read in "When Money Dies" some years ago about the Weimar inflation in Germany. There was a description of how the German minister in charge of money printing was frantically printing currency because prices were rising so quickly that he thought he needed to print more Marks to match the price increases. I laughed out loud when I read that.

"If prices went up, people demanded not a stable purchasing power for the marks they had, but more marks to buy what they needed. More marks were printed, and more, and more." -- "When Money Dies"

It raises the possibility that the frantic rush to produce more ventilators, which would kill more patients, leads to ever more frantic efforts to produce more ventilators, which kill more patients...

Ford, GM Ramp Up Production of Ventilators

Of course, I've been using some of the time wasted in serf lines to have a smoke, and just waiting for some liberal to start scolding me about my deadly ETS.

But now, there's this!

People are pulling their own teeth while dentists are on coronavirus lockdown

"Prognosis for a dental abscess is very good. Prognosis can be quite poor if a dental abscess is left untreated; mortality rate can increase to 40% if patients develop mediastinitis from descending infection (Shweta et al. 2013). Airway compromise may warrant intubation or placement of tracheostomy. Ascending infections through the sinuses or hematogenous spread to the brain increase mortality rate and carry a poor prognosis." -- Source

.08%, not 7%.

COVID-19 is also more deadly than seasonal influenza. The crude mortality rate for COVID-19, based on confirmed cases to date, is currently estimated by the WHO to be between 3-4%, with seasonal influenza sitting well below 0.1%. However, it is important to note that these figures are heavily influenced by the availability of quality healthcare, and by case data. -- [source]

What is the denominator?

Finally, some numbers are coming out about the denominator. Using Dr. Bhattacharya's lower estimate - 2.8 % - the global number of infected people would be around .028 X 7,000,000,000 = 196,000,000.

The death rate, as of today from worldOmeter, would be about 161,126 / 196,000,000 = .08%, not 7%.

So it's more like the seasonal flu, after all.

Demand freedom.

I went to a different grocery store today, partly to pick up some Tata tea for $4.99, which was sold out, and partly to observe all the colorful costumes people were wearing to celebrate this mega-holiday.

If public mask-wearing DOES become mandatory, I would hope they at least allow some latitude for personal expression, because I will be wearing a white sheet under a dunce cap.

It was total anarchy at the store. No one was observing the traffic signs on the floor! People were just travelling in whatever way they wanted to - sort of like in a free country.

Coronavirus Update: Say it often.

It's not being caused by the Coronavirus, it's being caused by the government.

Maybe if I say it loud enough, and often enough, people will start to believe it.

Why do the fake stream media keep on lying about this?

I watch the news on my local station over my rabbit ears, and occasionally jump over to a CTV broadcast from Barrie which comes in on channel 35.

I DO NOT tune in to these stations for the NEWS, even though that is what I watch. I tune in so that I will know what kind of horseshit they are spewing into the open, wide open, gapingly open minds of the hoi polloi, and then comparing that with the behavior I see in public and the vomit that spews forth from the mouths of our political "leaders."

Okay, that is not entirely true. Because of my house arrest, and the habit I recently developed of turning on the television, I have also been watching some of the re-runs of old shows like, "I Dream of Genie," "Happy Days," and "Cheers." If ever there was a time for nostalgia, this is it. The shows may be a lot of bull, but the casual, unrestricted behavior of the characters is very familiar. The spontaneous order of unregulated social interaction without the need for masks and painted lines on the floor may now be gone forever.

But even those shows are being constantly interrupted by CH's Evening News repeater, Taz Boga, as she and the rest keep on pounding their message away into the minds of their somnambulating receptacles.

It's like a jackhammer pounding away, pounding away.

"Job losses caused by the virus."

"Closed businesses caused by the virus."

"Horrific government debts caused by the virus."

Over, and over, and over, and over.

BULLSHIT.

Again. It's not being caused by the Coronavirus, it's being caused by the government.

Do you remember what Climate Barbie famously said?

"if you actually say it louder, we’ve learned in the House of Commons, if you repeat it, if you say it louder, if that is your talking point, people will totally believe it!”

Oh, and that reminds me of that famous statement of another twentieth-century figure who said,

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

Hmm, read that last sentence again,

"It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

and compare that to a recent headline,

"Federal government open to new law to fight pandemic misinformation." -- CBC, April 15, 2020.

In other words, the Liberal government of Canada is demanding that it alone has the power to define, and distribute, or restrict "the truth."

Is it time to start pushing back?

Remember Wolfgang Wodarg?

It turns out he was kicked out of his position on the board of directors of Transparency International Germany, for daring to criticize the German government's response to COVID-19.

Similar things happen to climate experts who don't buy into the climate hoax.

Go figger.

World Health Organization Demanded Sweden Lock Down To Cover Its Own Fraud

Why are the politicians and their mainstream media propagandists not talking about administering a test for COVID-19 antibodies?

Instead, they are only reporting the number of "confirmed cases" which is really kind of meaningless, and comparing THAT number to the number of deaths to come up with their scary 7% mortality rate.

The real number would include the number of people who, not only have the virus, but those who have the antibodies.

I don't know what that number is, does anyone? But I know this from simple math, the 7% number would almost certainly be LESS.

From about 15:30 today, April 17, 2020.

I just got back from grocery shopping.

I think I'm finally losing my shit.

After wandering up the cereal aisle to grab a few boxes, I noticed the freezer with the meat pies I was looking for, so I turned around, loaded up and continued in that direction.

A staffer approached me from the opposite direction and scolded me for going the wrong way on a one-way aisle. I could feel the anger welling up in me as I asked her,

"What are you going to do, give me a ticket?"

More words were exchanged. I can't exactly remember what was said other than her telling me "they" would shut the store down if these new pedestrian traffic laws were not obeyed. I walked past her.

Then I went to the checkout. I asked the security guard which counter to use, and he pointed to the one right in front of me before he noticed the six-pack of Old Milwaukee in my cart, whereupon he told me I had to use a different checkout.

I don't respond well to having my movements regulated to such a minute degree.

At this point, I just laughed at the absurdity of it all and commented to the cashier that this was all BS and it was time to go back to "normal." Then she got miffed and like a trained parrot sounded out the familiar "well if it saves lives" mantra.

I told her I am getting sick of hearing that. She then said, "As far as I'm concerned, *they're* not going far enough." By now I was talking quite loud and drawing attention from others in the store. I said, "and how many lives are going to be lost if you shut down the entire economy?"

Then I quoted Prime Minister Turdboy, "Enough is enough!"

One of the entry/exit monitors told me to calm down as I exited the store.

I had a short conversation outside with the cart retriever guy and, being out of earshot of other people who might rat on him, he ended up agreeing with most of what I said.

It's time to end this shit NOW!

===

Then, just now, I finally got around to watching Molyneaux's interview with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai. It's fascinating and, of course, no surprise to me that the last time I posted an interview with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, Facebook put a "fake news" curtain over it.

The fact that this massive police state reaction is happening right now doesn't really phase me. I've been painfully aware of this unfolding process for decades. What really pisses me off is seeing how the public uncritically gobbles it up, stands in line, and follows the little arrows on the floor.

COVID-19 Lethality Not Much Different Than Flu, Says New Study

The anecdotal evidence is starting to roll in. I knew this was going to happen. That is why I get pissed off when some supermarket Nazi tells me it's all about "saving lives."

I can't say I have been strongly affected by this insanity. Yet. I've had a doctor's appointment, a physiotherapy session, and a dental appointment canceled because of it, but none of my issues were critical.

But I visualize a spectrum of conditions, from mild to severe. And though I don't have any numbers to support it, I am certain that people on the extreme margins are dying because of the delays, disruptions, and cancellations. NOT because of the virus. And there is no scoreboard for them. They go down the memory hole. They don't have an entry on the balance sheet.

I have seen two reports of teenaged girls who have committed suicide over the fear and social isolation wrought by the media/government exploitation of this flu variant.

Ron Paul mentioned in his Liberty Report an old guy who delayed going to the hospital because of the chaos surrounding the panic, and instead, died.

Last night, while talking to a friend on the phone, he told me about a friend of his whose wife was feeling quite ill on the weekend but delayed a trip to the hospital because she was afraid of delays, disruptions, or refusal of care due to the CoronaPanic. Maybe her fears were exaggerated. Can you blame her?

She died on Sunday. Sixty-four years old.

My friend remarked, wryly, "They'll probably write her up as a victim of COVID-19."

"Never let a good virus go to waste."

In the old days, there were "trusted authorities." Newspapers. Television. The churches. School teachers.

I was also going to add politicians. But when have they ever been thought of as trusted authorities?

In the movie, "Master and Commander," Russel Crowe makes a quip about finding "an honest man in parliament," though I can't remember the rest. I think the others laughed when he said it. Anyway, the point is, the common belief about the integrity of politicians is as old as history.

Thanks to the internet, we now know that most of our trusted authorities were fraudulent.

EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS!

So why, oh why, do so many people suddenly place their trust in the people whom they know, otherwise, NEVER tell the truth?

It's simple.

Fear.

Thursday, April 9, 2020

Never let a good virus go to waste.

If the fear of getting, or spreading, a virus, is all the people need to meekly grant their rulers the power to prohibit them from visiting their relatives for Easter Dinner, for example, IMAGINE HOW THOSE PEOPLE, like congenital Liberals, for whom everyone else's business, and everyone else's money, is theirs to control, and divvy up in accordance with WHAT THEY THINK PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE, must be interpreting current events.

No doubt they are thinking,

"Never let a good virus go to waste."

No doubt they are currently salivating at the thought of all of the things they would not have been otherwise able to accomplish, like shutting down an industrial economy, if not for this convenient new headline.

I am beginning to think that I would rather have the virus.

What does Greta Think?

I'm curious. Does anyone know what Greta has been saying now that her demands for a green economy have been almost completely met?

I see all the public parks shut down, the play areas cordoned off, and publicly funded NKVD park-blocking detachments (unarmed - so far) lurking on the perimeters. It makes me think, "this is what a stolen childhood looks like."

If this is the "new normal" as some are saying, do you think she will embrace her new future? Or will she do a sudden reversal when she realizes her future has also been stolen?

20%

The 20%

In a debate on another thread about the claim that the percentage of "closed cases" is what we should be looking at, I think this can be a very useful statistic, even though, as I first said, the actual percentage of infected people who will die from COVID-19 is unknown.

For example, the latest numbers from the global scoreboard I am using, the global number of "confirmed cases" now stands at 1,535,086, the number of deaths stands at 89,823, and the number of recoveries stands at 353,497, which is 20% of all closed cases.

So that is definitely one of the numbers we should be looking at. And in the five days since that discussion started that 20% has remained constant. It is therefore possible to project, that as of today, based upon the number of "confirmed cases," once *these* cases are resolved, the number of deaths *as of today* - April 9, 2020, can be projected to be about 20% of 1,535,086, or about 307,000 deaths worldwide.

Therefore, another number we should be keeping an eye on is the number of "confirmed" cases.

Assuming that the number of "confirmed cases" is based upon a consistent yardstick unaffected by changes in testing and reporting.

And politics.

According to Ron Paul's Liberty Report from this morning, the claim was made that the reported number of deaths from heart attacks and other maladies, like pneumonia have suddenly dropped off a cliff.

If this claim is true, it implies that the daily death count from heart attack and pneumonia etc. are being manipulated and bundled into COVID-19 death stats in order to influence the political response to COVID-19.

Another number worth looking at is the annual number of flu related deaths.

According to the CDC website, "CDC estimates that from 2010-2011 to 2013-2014, influenza-associated deaths in the United States ranged from a low of 12,000 (during 2011-2012) to a high of 56,000 (during 2012-2013).

The number of deaths in the U.S., so far, attributed to COVID-19 is 14,795. Slightly above the reported low of 12,000 flue deaths in 2011-2012 and well below the 56,000 reported flu deaths during the 2012-2013 flu season.

From the point of view of my untrained eye, so far it still looks like COVID-19 is just another version of the flu.
